Third ROCE Workshop Paves the Way for Successful Value Chains to Come
On May 7th, 2025, Kodiak Economic Development Corporation (KEDC) with Rural Community Assistance Corporation, hosted the third Recharge Our Community’s Economy (ROCE) Workshop, at Kodiak College from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. KEDC remains committed to supporting community-led economic growth through initiatives like the ROCE Workshop series. At Workshop 3, Emerging Leadership & Project Strategies, attendees continued developing five identified Value Chains (projects).Workshop Highlights
Discussions around identifying key components around value chains brought forward by community members.
Both facilitators from RCAC and KEDC are very pleased with the significant progress being made across the five identified value chains: Housing, Seafood Market, Childcare, Walkability, and Small Business Support. In Workshop 3, each group thoughtfully defined the challenges their value chain seeks to address and began expanding their networks by identifying additional key partners.
Workshop 4, the final day in the 4-part series, will be held on Tuesday, May 28th, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Kodiak College. During this important session, groups will develop actionable plans and evaluate their value chains to prepare for implementation. Community members interested in attending this workshop would be greatly appreciated and valuable, as the day marks an important step toward bringing the various group's ideas and efforts to fruition.
