About Kodiak Economic Development Corporation (KEDC)

The Kodiak Economic Development Corporation (KEDC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to strengthening Kodiak’s economy through innovation, collaboration, and community-driven solutions. Founded in 2021, we partner with the City of Kodiak, local businesses, and organizations like KANA to tackle the island’s toughest challenges—workforce development, housing, mariculture, and downtown revitalization. From connecting students to careers at the annual Career Expo to boosting downtown with SIP Grants, KEDC delivers results that matter. Our Housing Action Plan addresses Kodiak’s housing crisis, while Mariculture Growth paves the way for a sustainable blue economy. To date, we’ve leveraged over $86,000 in downtown upgrades alone. Want to shape Kodiak’s future? Explore our SIP Grants or contact us to get involved!
