Kodiak Economic Development Corporation (KEDC), in partnership with the Kodiak Area Native Association (KANA), and the City of Kodiak, has developed the Storefront Improvement Program (SIP) to help continue to revitalize Kodiak’sDowntown by creating a matching grant program for Downtown businesses.

With a Coast Guard expansion set to happen over the course of the next three years, Kodiak will welcome a possible addition of up to 1,000 new residents to the island. Currently there are approximately 2500 active duty and dependents stationed in Kodiak.

Consistently ranked as one of the nation's top fishing ports by volume and product value, Kodiak is a key player in anything related to fisheries.
